For many jurisdictions (US), you may pass a school bus much the same way as driving a motor vehicle unless if there’s only a single lane: Just pass on the left when its clear, but slowly, and keep an eye for any students/pedestrians crossing from the front of the bus.

Don’t forget to follow the stop signs on the bus (if there’s one).

Good idea is to wear very bright clothing so motorists can easily see you!! Like bright orange or safety yellow or neon lime green!!!

if peeple dont wanna were a helmet then vey shud geta taxi cos it safer n faster

  17. dahgutone 27 April 2010 at 1:34 pm #

Only the cheap helmets look bad.

  18. AndrooUK 27 April 2010 at 2:21 pm #

Eugh at helmets… I’d rather take the extremely low risk of head injury over wearing a useless UK helmet and carrying it around with me. At least the Dutch know how to have fun cycling.

what if you are riding and infront of you there is a school bus stopped, do you wait for it to move or you keep going by moving to the side

That was the worst drain grate I’ve ever seen. It would be like trying to ride over an open manhole.

I was wondering that. I looked at it and though, “Wow, I’ve been turning left the wrong way all this time.” I’m glad to hear that the way I perceived to be the safest has some confirmation from you guys. Thanks!

I’m from the UK and I have to use an American bike safety video! Saying that it was pretty helpful.
