fire in the snow…..IN THE SOUTH!!!.wmv


Just a short fuzzy and dark video of me starting fire in wet and snowy conditions here in South Carolina. nothing special..but practicing these skills now will prepare me for that time when I need them. BTW, I used nothing but natural tinders..no cotton balls, or anything to help it that you can find anywhere in the woods.

    Good video! I need to get some fat wood.
    I’m in Maryland (in the south, but not as far south as you). We got 2 big blizzards last week back to back.

    not really…if we lived in canada we would already be prepared for it….remember, people in the south see snow once every 6 years or more…and never really any accumulation. in canada you see it every 6 weeks..lol so its nothing new.

    Yep…mention snow around here and people raid the stores…buy extra blankets…I mean what the heck…its SNOW…just cold water if you ask me. all I did was make sure I had gas in the car…and full gas canister for the stove, in case some slacker took out the power pole again….lol

    Snow dont stay around here long enough to make a snow cone…lol it was just about gone by lunch today…which is why I wanted to try to make the fire last night….we got 6 inches in some places…others just got 3-4

    I remember growing up in VA. Beach VA. the winters only snowed once every 5-6 years as well. And then it would only be 3-4 inches tops.

    OMG you should have seen Knoxville Tn. last winter while I was there. The news predicted that it woulld get to 10 degrees F. for one day and the stores where over run in less than an hour after the report. The store my wife worked at was out of water and much of the other stuff soon after. The best part is that it actually only made it to the 20′s and snowed about 1 inch and they shut down all the schools.
